فستیوال باکسینگ دی با هدف کمک به کار زنان بی سرپرست و نیز آموزش تازه واردین به کانادا برگزار شد.
در این فستیوال 6 ورک شاپ رایگان برای عموم برپا شد.
در این ورک شاپها که هدفش آموزش به مهاجران تازه وارد بود، در زمینه های:
- چگونگی گرفتن وام برای تازه واردین.
-برطرف کردن مشکلات روحی تازه واردین در مواجهه با جامعه جدید.
-برطرف کردن مشکلات مهاجرتی که بسیاری از تازه واردین به آنها آگاهی ندارند.
-نکاتی که باید تازه واردین قبل از گرفتن وام به آن آگاهی داشته باشند.
-برطرف کردن -مشکلات تغذیه با توجه به خوراک های جدید و گوناگون در کانادا.
-برطرف کردن -مشکلات خانوادگی که برخی از مهاجرین در بدو ورود درگیر آنها می‌شوند،
- آموزش برخورد با فرزندان پس از مهاجرت طبق قوانین کانادا
- دندانپزشکی برای تازه واردین در کانادا
و نکاتی که باید تازه واردین قبل از خرید خانه آگاهی داشته باشند.
در نظر گرفته شده بود.
از سوی دیگر در این بازار بیزینس‌های زیادی، در این فستیوال لوازمشان را به حراج گذاشتند و فرصت خوبی بود که مردم بتوانند لوازم مورد نیازشان را خریداری کنند
در این فستیوال، که با استقبال چشمگیر مردم روبرو شد و ورود برای عموم رایگان بود؛ لیا تیلور روی نماینده آرورا، اوکریجز، ریچموندهیل در مجلس فدرال کانادا و گادوین چان، معاونت شهردار ریچموندهیل شرکت و تقدیرنامه‌هایی را به داوطلبین این برنامه اهدا کردند.
این فستیوال با همراهی ده ‌ها داوطلب برگزار شد.
